Frequently Asked Questions

Any Questions about PrescribaRxSM Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Plan?

A PrescribaRx Medicare Prescription Drug Plan is an easy way to control rising prescription drug costs and is accepted at independent and major pharmacy chains across the United States and through mail order. We’ve answered some of the most frequently asked questions about our plans below.

At PrescribaRx, we are committed to helping you find the right prescription drug coverage for your needs. If you want more information, or if you’d like to see whether your prescription medications are covered, call a PrescribaRx customer service representative at 1-800-765-4576 (TTY for the hearing impaired: 1-800-777-9083) 8 AM to 8 PM, 7 days a week.

Q: Am I eligible for PrescribaRx?

You are eligible to enroll in the plan if you are entitled to Medicare benefits under Part A or enrolled in Part B, and you reside within the service area of the plan. Prescriba Rx is available everywhere in the U.S. Please note that you can only be enrolled in one Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Plan at a time.

Q: Can I switch to PrescribaRx if I’m already enrolled in another Medicare prescription drug plan?

Yes! You are allowed to switch Medicare prescription drug plans between November 15 and December 31 for an effective date of January 1. Give us a call to find out if a Prescriba Rx plan fits your needs, or visit www.prescribarx.com. There are other times when you may be able to sign up or switch prescription drug plans. If you are turning 65 and are new to Medicare, you can enroll in a plan up to three full months before your birth month and up to three months after. If you are enrolled in Medicare and Medicaid, you can switch at any time.

Q: Does PrescribaRx cover every prescription drug?

Unfortunately, no Medicare Prescription Drug Plan can include every prescription drug on the market. PrescribaRx does cover every class of prescription drug allowed by Medicare Part D, including brand name and generic drugs. Call us today to find out if your drugs are covered: 1-800-765-4576 (TTY for the hearing impaired: 1-800-777-9083) 8 AM to 8 PM, 7 days a week.

Q: What if my prescription drug is not on the formulary?

If your specific medicine is not on our formulary, there might be a similar drug that offers the same benefits. For example, if you’re taking a cholesterol-lowering drug, there might be a suitable alternative on our formulary. We’ll work with you and your doctor to find a covered drug that best suits your condition.

Q: What if I have prescription drug coverage from an employer or union?

Check with your employer or union to determine how much your current union covers compared to a PrescribaRx prescription drug plan.

Q: What if I don’t become eligible for Medicare until after December 31?

No problem! Medicare will inform you of the dates of your seven-month open enrollment period, which is the same as your enrollment period for Medicare.

Q: Where do I get my prescriptions filled?

Call a Prescriba Rx customer service representative at 1-800-765-4576 (TTY for the hearing impaired: 1-800-777-9083) 8 AM to 8 PM, 7 days a week to see if your local pharmacy accepts PrescribaRx. A list of approved PrescribaRx pharmacies is also available online at www.prescribarx.com

If you prefer, you can order medicines through the mail for delivery straight to your home. You will enjoy a lower co-pay when you order a three-month supply by mail or fill your prescriptions at select network pharmacies.
