"Collaborating for Good Health" Giving Back Program

Making a Commitment to Collaborate with Our Communities

Universal American Launches ”Collaborating for Good Health” Giving Back Program

Universal American’s Healthy CollaborationSM embodies a commitment to work together for the good health of our members. We deliver on our promise by cultivating strong relationships with our doctors, pharmacists, and other healthcare providers who partner in our collaborative model of care to keep our members healthier. We know that if our members have closer relationships with their doctors and pharmacists, they can better manage chronic disease, detect illness sooner and live fuller, happier lives.

A big part of why our collaborative model of care works is because there are community organizations doing the groundwork to help people with Medicare maximize their benefits and to make sure that older Americans have access to services that increase their quality of life.

In 2010 we launched our “Collaborating for Good Health” Giving Back Program to increase the capacity of non-profit organizations in our core markets that work directly with older adults. Our involvement in the communities we serve goes beyond establishing high-quality physician and pharmacy access for our members. By supporting non-profit organizations that serve older adults, we are making a deeper investment in the long-term health of the communities in which we live and work.

Our mission is to support local organizations that are dedicated to helping older adults and people with Medicare maximize access to services and increase their quality of life.

All of our grantees:

  • Serve our local communities.
  • Improve the lives of older Americans with limited incomes by providing primary care and social services.
  • Provide outreach and enrollment assistance to people who will benefit from Medicare Savings Programs and the Low Income Subsidy.
